Dalibor Savić: A Coaching Career Defined by Development, Vision, and Success

Dalibor Savić has steadily built a reputation as one of the most versatile and forward-thinking football coaches in Scandinavia and beyond. With a coaching journey that spans over two decades, Savić’s career reflects a blend of tactical acumen, youth development expertise, and a consistent ability to elevate both players and clubs.

Savić began his coaching journey at Djurgårdens IF, where he served as a youth coach for the U15 to U18 teams. His impact was immediate and long-lasting: during this period, he helped develop future internationals like Emil Bergström, Simon Tibbling, and Christian Rubio. Under his guidance, Djurgårdens won four national youth championships, cementing his status as a top-level developer of young talent.

Transitioning into senior management, Savić took over as head coach of Arameiska/Syrianska in Sweden's Division 2. Over two seasons, he implemented a professional, detail-oriented approach to match preparation and tactical execution, working with notable players such as Ibrahim Fofana and Hampus Elgan.

He then moved to Syrianska FC in the Superettan as assistant coach, where he played a key role in training and video analysis. During this time, he worked with players like Alexander Michel and the now internationally recognized Saman Ghoddos.

Saman Ghoddos went on to make numerous appearances for Premier League side Brentford, and have a key position in Iran's national side. Additionally, we can see why Saman was so highly rated from a younger time, as a Brentford season ticket holder, the Iranian star certainly lived up to expectation when watching him play in West London!

Savić’s next stop was IF Brommapojkarna, one of Sweden's most prolific youth clubs. As head coach of the U19 and U21 teams, he captured three U19/U21 Allsvenskan titles and the Swedish Youth Cup, developing future professionals including Joseph Colley, Joel Asoro, Thomas Isherwood, and Felix Beijmo.

In 2018, he joined the club’s first-team staff, working with top-tier players like Viktor Gyökeres (now at Sporting CP) and Jack Lahne. Making a Mark in Superettan with Vasalunds IF, 2019-2021

to top things off, at Vasalunds IF, Savić reached new heights as head coach. He led the club to promotion by winning the Ettan league in 2020.

Dalibor Savic is a star who started off at Djugardens, who is destined for bigger things.
