About the Role
YouthTV is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Online Engagement Assistant to support our digital presence. In this part-time volunteer role, the primary responsibilities include maintaining and updating programme pages on the YouthTV website using our in-house Content Management System (CMS), as well as managing and enhancing our social media channels. This role is key to ensuring that our content is presented in a captivating and engaging manner, fostering strong connections with our audience. You will collaborate closely with the team at your assigned programme to enhance the online/social media presence of it.
Skills needed for the Role
•Communication and Presentation: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present ideas clearly and engage effectively with audiences.
•Technical Proficiency: Strong skills in using generic computer applications and content management systems (CMS), including Microsoft Office and web browsers.
•Media Law Awareness: Basic understanding of media law and its implications for digital content.
•Creativity and Problem-Solving: Ability to generate original ideas and solutions, contributing creatively while effectively addressing challenges.
•Personable and Confident: A friendly, confident manner with the ability to connect with audiences and promote oneself and the platform.
•Teamwork and Broad Interests: Strong collaboration skills with a wide range of interests, particularly in current affairs, ensuring relevant and engaging content.

Responsibilities
•Regularly update and maintain YouthTV’s website and programme pages using our in-house CMS, ensuring accurate, timely, and visually appealing content.
•Manage social media channels, including creating, scheduling, and publishing posts that align with YouthTV’s brand and mission.
•Engage with the online community, responding to comments, messages, and feedback in a timely and professional manner.
•Monitor social media trends and analytics to optimise content and engagement strategies.
•Collaborate with the digital, content and production teams to ensure seamless integration of online content with on-air programming.
