The Bedford Music Service is celebrating its 4th year and 6th ‘Bedford Breakthrough’ event at the renowned Esquires venue, a staple of local music culture. This year’s event promises to be bigger and better, with over 100 talented students from Bedford Borough Schools and Colleges performing across two evenings. It’s an exciting opportunity to showcase the best in local musical talent and offer students the invaluable experience of playing in a professional venue.
We are fortunate to have Bedford Esquires right on our doorstep, especially as many local music venues around the country have closed in recent years. This event shines a spotlight on young musicians in Bedford, offering them a chance to perform on stage in front of a live audience, a rare and important experience for aspiring artists.
Over the course of the two nights, 22 bands will take the stage, playing on two separate stages at Esquires. In addition to the bands, there will be acoustic artists and singers performing in Danny’s Bar downstairs, creating a diverse range of music to enjoy. The event will also feature a number of young DJs, who are students of Music Seeds, one of the Bedford Music Service’s partner organisations.
The excitement doesn’t stop there. The best four bands from the event will be selected to represent Bedford Borough at the prestigious Bedfordshire and MK Battle of the Bands, which will take place at the Stables in March. It’s a fantastic opportunity for students to gain exposure and take the next step in their musical journey.
Tickets for the event are priced at £6 and can be purchased via Ticket Source. To learn more about Bedford Music Service and the wide variety of musical activities it offers, visit their website at bedfordmusic.org.uk.
