Luton's Tysie Gallagher Gets Talk UK Telecom in Her Corner
A Luton business is backing one of the town's own as British champion Tysie Gallagher prepares for the next chapter of her professional boxing career.
Tysie Gallagher was just 11 years old when she first laced up her gloves in Luton. Years later she has built a successful professional career and become a British champion. Now Talk UK Telecom, a business from the same town, has announced it will sponsor her as she gets ready for what comes next.
For anyone our age with big ambitions, Tysie's story is proof that the road to the top can start right on your doorstep.
Talk UK says it wasn't only Tysie's record in the ring that made it want to get involved. "Her determination, resilience and commitment to the town she comes from really stood out to us," the company said.
More than boxing
The partnership didn't come out of nowhere. Tysie and Talk UK already shared a connection through Stepping Stones, a Luton charity that supports women and their children affected by domestic abuse and other challenging circumstances.
Tysie is an ambassador for the charity. Talk UK has supported its work for a number of years. The company sums up the link as "a Luton business, a Luton charity and a Luton sporting champion" coming together.
The Talk UK team has even joined Tysie for a session in the boxing gym. Their verdict? "We can confirm that she makes it look considerably easier than it is."
In her corner
Talk UK has been part of the Luton and Bedfordshire business community for many years. It employs local people and works with businesses across the area. It also backs the charities and events doing good work close to home.
For the company, this sponsorship goes deeper than branding. "For us, sponsorship like this is about more than putting a logo somewhere," it said. "It's about using our business to support people and organisations within the community around us."
As Tysie gears up for the next stage of her career, Talk UK's message is simple. "Good luck, Tysie. The whole Talk UK team is behind you."
