Craig David Shut Down The O2, and Here’s What Went Down

Craig David’s Commitment Tour came to a spectacular close at The O2, and honestly, it was everything I hoped for and more. The energy, the nostalgia, the surprises—he put on a show that reminded everyone exactly why he’s still one of the best in the game.

I got to the arena just as the doors opened, buzzing with excitement! As people slowly filled the arena, DJ Patrick Nazemi was already setting the vibe, spinning old-school R&B and house anthems. 50 Cent, Missy Elliott—you name it, he played it.

Then at 7:30, Lemar took the stage. I’ll be honest, as someone who didn’t grow up listening to Lemar, I wasn’t sure what to expect. But he completely won me over. His vocals were insane, and he had the crowd dancing to Dance with You and If There’s Any Justice. By the time his set was done, I was a fan.

DJ Patrick Nazemi came back on for another half-hour, keeping the energy going with more R&B and garage classics. I honestly need this guy to share his playlist because the song choices were perfect.

At 8:30, the lights dimmed, the crowd erupted, and Craig David took the stage, dressed entirely in white. He wore white jeans and a matching denim jacket adorned with a pink circular logo that, to me, resembled a tongue-out emoji wearing headphones. He looked so effortlessly cool!

He kicked things off with SOS, his latest single, before launching into hit after hit. Walking Away, Fill Me In, and Rise and Fall had the whole arena singing along. The visuals on the big screens were also very immersive. One visual that really stood out to me was a tour of modern mansion with picture frames displaying old Craig David album covers. The frames also showed live visuals from the stage, which made it feel like we were going through his whole journey with him.

At one point, as he looked out into the crowd, my sister and I waved at him—and he waved back! Yeah, I’ll never stop talking about that moment.

Halfway through, Craig took a moment to shout out his parents, who were in the audience. He spoke about how they supported his music career from day one, even getting him DJ decks for Christmas when he was a kid.

Then came TS5.

If you’ve never seen his TS5 DJ set live, you’re missing out. He mixed 90s R&B, UK garage, house, and even showed off his quick rapping skills. The whole arena turned into one massive party. And just when I thought it couldn’t get better, Wes Nelson came out for their song Abracadabra. That was a really nice surprise for the younger fans in the crowd, seeing someone from our generation join Craig on stage.

Now, if you’re a regular concertgoer, you’ll know never to believe an artist when they say goodbye. Sure enough, about 30 seconds after Craig thanked the audience and waved, he was back with the full band for a couple more bangers.

He closed the night with 7 Days, and hearing the entire O2 arena singing every word was something special. The energy was unreal, the nostalgia hit hard, and Craig David proved once again why he’s one of the best performers out there.

This show was easily up there with the best concerts I’ve ever been to. Craig David knows exactly how to work a crowd, his vocals were flawless, and the whole experience felt like a massive celebration of his career.

If you missed the Commitment Tour, don’t worry! He’s got plenty of summer shows coming up, including at Kew the Music Festival at Kew Gardens. Trust me, you don’t want to miss it!
